Haitian-born recruit chooses Pink Raiders

Bethany, Oklahoma, cornerback Jocelyn Malaska announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Friday. Malaska and his two brothers were born in Haiti and were adopted by a couple from Oklahoma.

Jocelyn Malaska announced an oral commitment on Friday to the Texas Tech soccer application, a prospect that the Haitian-born player and these close to him would not have envisioned till not too long ago.

Malaska, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback and broad receiver from Bethany, Oklahoma, declared his pledge on Instagram. The 5-moment movie details his daily life tale with interviews of him, his adoptive mom and dad and his substantial-school mentor. 

“When I began taking part in soccer in the seventh quality,” Malaska reported on the movie, “I under no circumstances dreamed that sometime I would be taking part in in school.”

As a junior last year for Bethany, Malaska caught 45 passes for 479 yards and a touchdown and was credited with 29 tackles, two tackles for decline, 3 interceptions and four passes defended.
