Game one preview of NC State baseball vs. Arkansas in the Super Regionals

NC State baseball takes on Arkansas Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPNU in game one of the Super Regionals.

The three-game series will be played in Fayetteville, Ark., with the winner advancing to the 2021 College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

The Wolfpack (33-17, 19-14 ACC) won the Ruston Regional with a 3-0 record last weekend, including two wins over regional host and top-seeded Louisiana Tech. The Pack outscored its opponents 30-11 over three games in the Ruston Regional.

The Razorbacks (49-11, 22-8 ACC) won the Fayetteville Regional with a 3-1 record last weekend, ultimately defeating Nebraska in a winner-take-all Monday contest.

Arkansas DE reportedly transferring to Tech

According to media stories out of his hometown of Rockford, Illinois, College of Arkansas defensive conclusion Julius Coates is becoming a member of the Texas Tech soccer application for the 2021 soccer period.  If genuine, this is a significant addition, both figuratively and practically.

The 6-foot-6 290-pound defensive conclusion is undoubtedly an imposing actual physical presence.  But far more importantly, he is coming off of a calendar year in which he was an impression player in the SEC.

In just 7 games very last fall, Coates accrued 18 overall tackles together with 3 for loss.  He was also credited with two sacks for the Razorbacks.

“I just felt like it was time for me to be at a new location, a new possibility,” Coates explained to Scott Leber of MyStateLine.com. “Just a new ecosystem for someplace exactly where I can go and start out to mature and engage in.
